Some Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)

• What are the Health and Safety Policies that NCCO and Morehouse are employing?

  • See here for the Health and Safety Policies we have adopted for the conference.

• Will there be live choirs at the conference?

  • The only live choral ensembles will be the host choruses (including the Morehouse College Glee Club) and potentially other singers from the Atlanta University Center institutions. There will not be any invited choruses at this conference; instead, we will be displaying the Choral Performance Videos chosen during our peer review process, highlighting the innovative work of our members during the pandemic.

• Will I have to wear a mask during the conference?

  • Yes, all attendees will be masked, per our Health and Safety Policies.

• Where can I learn more about what Morehouse College is doing to keep its campus safe?

  • Morehouse College maintains a COVID Dashboard where you can learn more about their risk mitigation efforts and the current state of the virus on campus.

• Will there be a hybrid or a virtual option for attendance?

  • No. NCCO9 will be an in-person conference. NCCO is an all-volunteer operation, and we do not have the volunteer capacity or the funding to operate a hybrid or virtual conference.

• What are the dining options nearby (both near the hotel and on-campus), and what are the COVID protocols for those?

  • While there are currently no COVID-19 restrictions in place maintained by the City of Atlanta or the State of Georgia, private restaurants and businesses are free to employ their own COVID protocols. You may be asked to wear a mask in a restaurant when not eating or drinking, to display proof of vaccination, etc. per the business' own guidelines.
  • There are a plethora of dining options in downtown Atlanta near the recommended hotels, to suit a variety of needs, including different prices/costs, eat-in/take-out, and indoor/outdoor dining options.
  • On the Morehouse Campus, there are a number of dining options that provide access to counter-service/take-out. You can see the options available here.

• Are there options to have meals delivered to hotel room for limiting exposure if needed?

  • Yes. All of our recommended hotels can receive delivery orders from downtown Atlanta restaurants. Many have in-room dining services available as well.

• Do any of the nearby dining options have outdoor spaces with fresh air?

  • Yes. All of the Morehouse College counter-service and take-out dining options can be enjoyed in outdoor spaces, weather permitting. In addition, we will be hosting a "Food Truck Friday" event for lunch on the second day of the conference, housed outside the Ray Charles Performing Arts Center. In addition, the downtown Atlanta restaurant options including a plethora of outdoor spaces for enjoying your meals during our extended dinner hours.

• Will there be a Composer Fellowship at this conference?

  • Unfortunately not. We are not able to offer this program during NCCO9, due to the extenuating circumstances with the pandemic.

• May I request a refund of my NCCO registration?

  • In general, we have a "no refund" policy for NCCO conferences. However, if circumstances beyond our control require us to cancel the conference, then we will process refunds in that eventuality.
